My friend told me, her Facebook could not be opened. Then I ask a question, "already tried to reset your Facebook password?", she said that she had already reset her Facebook password, but her email also could not be opened. Then I told her, "Congratulations, your account has been stolen".

Do you know if the Facebook already has more advanced features for securing Facebook user account from illegal act? Securing an account with just relying on a combination of letters and numbers, no matter how long that amount of character, it doesn't guarantee our account to be 100% safe. So many ways to take over the account, you can read the articles about "how to steal passwords" are aplenty can be found on the internet.

To secure Facebook user account, the Facebook has made more sophisticated security systems. In addition to securing using the master password, Facebook also provides several options to secure the account.

1. Securing by using password.

I will not explain how to protect your Facebook account using the password, because it is very common and has become a standard in all website.

How to protect documents and accounts using a password, maybe 5 years ago is still very powerful. However, this method is almost no longer safe to use for this moment. With the key logger program, anyone so easily stealing passwords, because this program does not appear on the screen but recording and reporting everything we type.

2. Securing accounts by recognizing device.

Do you have implemented a security system as shown below?, If you do not implement it because you do not understand what the function of this feature, I'll try to explain it with my own language style. But to get a more complete answer, you can contact the Facebook as the developer of this website.

Click on "account settings" as shown above, and then select the "security" as shown in the figure below.

In the picture above there are 3 parts that you need to change:
- Secure browsing: enable this section to browse Facebook on a secure connection (https).
- Login notifications: notify you when your account is accessed from a computer or mobile device that you haven't used before.
- Login approvals: Require you to enter a security code each time an unrecognized computer or device tries to access your account.

In the "Login approvals" section, you will be prompted to enter your phone number.

The purpose of this method is when you go into your account using an unknown device, then Facebook will automatically send you a code to the appropriate phone number that you submitted. After you enter your cell number, then click "continue". If you get an SMS that it contains a secret code, enter the code to verify if that phone number is yours.

If you enter the secret code equal with code that is sent through your cell number, then you have successfully completed the arrangements in this session.

After you enable this security feature, though someone knows your password, but he will not be able to get into your Facebook. Because if the someone is using an unknown device to login to your Facebook account, then Facebook will automatically send a secret code to your phone number. It can also be a warning if there are others who are trying to get into your Facebook account.

Hopefully this article useful.
