Changes in an operating system are very influential on the specifications of the computer, it cannot be denied. Windows xp to windows 7 operating system are very different in terms of the use of computer memory and processor resources. Therefore it's recommended to use better specs again when you switch from windows xp to windows 7. (Windows 7 system requirements see here http://windows.microsoft.com/systemrequirements).
Are windows 7 can run with 256MB memory? Yes (I assume you are using a computer Pentium 4, single processor), but the problem is performance of your computer, work will very slow, and requires quite a lot of patience.
But for those of you who don't have the money to buy a new computer or memory with better specs, don't be discouraged (I think, not everyone can to buy a new computer ... there are still many people with limited funds. I'll share the experience of how to outsmart using windows 7 with low memory (this is my own experience).
Simple case and solution.
One of the programs consume a lot of memory is when we are running a browser, they will use memory proportional to the number of sites that are accessed and how much capacity the page is loaded and browser is also running several applications and plug-in to support the technology of a website that you access.
The way I do to solve the slow computer performance due to memory limitations is to close some programs that consume quite a lot of memory, you have to make sure if the program is completely closed (by looking at the list of running programs in the task manager, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
The second way is to change the priority status of the program work.
Suppose you are focus using a browser, you have to prioritize the program from other programs.
It all depends on you how, and there are many other ways in my opinion. Sometimes I close the browser when the computer performance has been very slow (of course, after I save the work to be saved first) and after that I go back when the percentage of memory is normal.
This method is very silly, because we became distracted. My advice, if you have enough money to buy a new computer, you should buy it. You definitely don't want to go crazy at having to do a routine like that every day, isn't it?
